File every email in seconds
AI-powered folder suggestions for Outlook. No rules, no configuration.
Folder Suggest uses on-device AI to instantly suggest the right Outlook folder for each email. No rules to set up, no cloud processing.
Triage view: your recent inbox as a list, each email pre-classified with a suggested folder. ✓ files it, ✕ skips it, and undo is always one tap away.
Clear your inbox, not one email at a time
Folder Suggest works two ways, and you can switch between them with the toggle in the pane above. The classic view files the one message you're reading. Triage Mode shows your whole recent inbox as a list, each email already pre-sorted with a suggested folder, so you can clear it from one pane.
- One tap to file, one to skip. ✓ files an email to its suggested folder, ✕ skips it.
- Change any suggestion. Tap the folder name to pick a top alternative, search all your folders, or create a new one on the spot.
- Group approve. File every "Receipts" (or any folder) at once.
- Full keyboard flow. Arrow keys to move, Enter to file, Backspace to skip.
- Undo is always one tap away after any move.
- Private by design. The AI runs on your device, so your emails never leave Microsoft's servers.
Triage Mode is the main experience in Outlook on the web, new Outlook for Windows, and Outlook for Mac. On classic Outlook for Windows, the classic single-email view stays the default and Triage is opt-in.
Folder Suggest is an Outlook add-in that uses on-device AI to recommend the right email folder for every message you read. Unlike Outlook Rules, which require you to pre-define conditions for each sender or subject, it reads the content of each email and matches it against messages already stored in your folders. No rules to create. No training required. It works immediately with whatever folder structure you already have.
The AI model runs entirely inside your browser, so no email content is ever sent to a server. On first use, a lightweight model (~20 MB) is downloaded once and cached locally. Every subsequent suggestion takes a second or two. Accept the top match with one click, or choose from up to seven ranked alternatives. An Undo button appears immediately.

Open the pane
Your recent inbox loads as a list, each email already pre-sorted with a suggested folder and a confidence dot.
Review the suggestions
Tap a folder name to pick a different one, search all your folders, or create a new folder on the spot.
File or skip, one tap each
✓ files an email, ✕ skips it. Nothing moves until you say so, and undo is always one tap away.
Your emails never leave your device
